Care about animals? An Animal Shelter in Sayreville, NJ is offering free pet adoptions.

The Sayreville Pet Adoption Center is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter in NJ that seeks loving homes for stray or unwanted cats and dogs.

The SPAC be closing, effective December 31, 2012.

"The loss of our municipal contracts combined with the rising costs of vaccines, medications, supplies, utilities, maintenance and upkeep of our shelter has taken a toll on our budget as well as the impact of events relating to Hurricane Sandy."

As a result, they will no longer be able to provide shelter for these helpless animals.

"We still have over 80 dogs and cats with us at this time who are looking for their forever homes."

If you or someone you know would like a pet cat or dog, the SPAC has announced no fee adoptions for the entire month of December. All animals have been spayed/neutered, are up to date with vaccines, dewormed with all bloodwork complete.

Everyone should be able to be "home for the holidays" so please help these pets find a good home. Now is the perfect time, because you can adopt a pet for FREE. Even if you can't adopt, please spread the word to the best of your ability to give these animals a home.

SPAC is located at 1400 Main Street in Sayreville, NJ, about 30 minutes away from the Millburn/Short Hills area.

"Operations of SPAC have been subsidized by Sayrebrook Veterinary Hospital since the time SPAC opened. In today's economy, it is no longer possible for Sayrebrook to do so."

Further information can be found on their website.
