Deerfield Student Wins Art Award in Fine Arts Festival
Natalie Ho, 9, was one of five statewide visual art winners at the first Garden State Fine Arts Festival held last month at Drew University.
Her painting, "The Singing Bird," was exhibited on the stage of the Concert Hall the day of the concert.
The competition was open to students of music, dance, visual arts, and photography, and culminated with its Summer Fest, showcasing gifted artists and musicians ranging in age from 6 to 21.
A highly diverse group of singers and instrumental soloists and ensembles performed an exciting program of classical, popular and jazz styles.
Natalie Ho, a fourth-grader at the Deerfield School, was also a featured Art Winner at the Piano Teachers Society of America's 2012 Festival at Carnegie Hall in May.
She continues her art studies with Emily Cui of Parsippany. She is the daughter of Donna and Dennis Ho of Short Hills.
