Louis 'Mr. Terrific' Barbieri, 90, Retired from Lord & Taylor

Louis Barbieri of Kearny, known as "Mr. Terrific," died on Dec. 29 after a struggle with end stage renal disease. He was 90. Barbieri had lived in Belleville before moving to Kearny. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a communications specialist during World War II. He later had a long career as a tailor with Lord & Taylor in Milburn (the site is now Trader Joe's). Barbieri was an opera lover and fan of singer Andrea Bocelli.
