Short Hills Garden Club Plants 'Heirloom' Trees

  • March 17, 2010

The Short Hills Garden Club is participating in a national tree project, "Trees, Our Living Legacy", in honor of the 2013 centennial of the Garden Club of America, of which the Club is a member. The Short Hills Garden Club is working with Louis Bauer, Director of Horticulture, Greenwood Gardens, and Town Forester Tom Doty to protect and enhance the environment by planting young oak trees around the township. These are "heirloom" trees with special significance to the township: the seedlings were collected and propagated by the Club from the historic White Oak tree on Great Oak Drive.
