Eliminate pensions. switch everyone to a 401k with a matching plan. If you need to raise their salaries so be it, but there should be no pensions of the type that pay a former Millburn school leader $143,000 a year in pension. It's fiscally, morally and structurally wrong. Someone like Crisfield should also not be eligible for a pension. The private sector does not reap these benefits, nor should the public sector.
