Artistic Achievements of Scholarship Winners Celebrated

AP Art scholarship winners' work displayed at Paper Mill Playhouse, where students received their awards.

The Millburn Arts Advisory Committee awarded art supplies and $2,000 in scholarships to seven students for artistic achievement this year -- three seniors and four juniors.

Students, friends, family, administrators, teachers and supporters celebrated the artistic achievements of Annie Dolan, Saraya Kanagaraj, Stephanie Tager, Chelsea Castro, Emily Draper, Chanthia Ma and Wenyun Zou last week at an event at the Paper Mill Playhouse Art Gallery.

“This evening is meant to honor the wonderful artists you continue to become,” Committee Chairwoman Laraine Barach told the scholarship recipients. “You have chosen different mediums and canvases – oil, acrylic, watercolor pen and ink, photography collage and sculpture. We, as a group, have enjoyed all your choices. Life is also a canvas -- fill it with what you love, and art will always flourish. We invite you to return to Millburn, your point of origin, to tell us how you are and share your newest art with us and the Millburn community.”
