Chinese Restaurant Coming to Millburn Avenue

Thai Grill closes, and a Chinese restaurant will replace it.

The Thai Grill on Millburn Avenue has closed, and a Chinese Restaurant is planned to replace it.

Nearly all of the signs have been whited over at the restaurant and a sign hangs in the window stating it's closed for renovations. The building is located next to Footnotes and was once the location of an International House of Pancakes.

The new restaurant would be called Q.J Green Garden Restaurant. Harold Klein, Downtown Milburn Development Alliance executive director, said the new restaurant has submitted plans for a new sign, which they want to get approved quickly so they can re-open soon.

This has been one of those cursed locations.

It was a Chinese Restaurant before it was Thai Grill and the food was not bad - but it never did much business.

I say bring back IHOP. I am sure that would do well.

Is the new Chinese place run by the same owners, or is it new owners?

I don't think the location is cursed; I think it's the quality of the food.
I tried Thai Grill a few times - it was 'eh'; not awful, but not worth returning to.
Before that, it was a Mayalsian/Thai/Chinese restaurant, also 'eh'.
Before that, for many years, it was Chan's Palace, a stereotypical Chinese-American restaurant (chow mein, chop suey, subgum ,etc)

I remember the Ihop from when I was a kid, but I don't remember when it closed.

No one was at the building when I stopped there to take photos, but it's my understanding it's new owners.
