Last minute changes in tonight’s repug comedy show…..Missouri’s own Senator Todd Aiken will replace Ann Robme’s speech. His address is entitled, “Mysteries of the Female Reproductive System.” He will be followed by New Jersey’s own talking airship, Governor Girth. His much anticipated topic is, “How I single-handedly Made Krispy-Kreme a Successful Franchise.” It should be a real crowd pleaser!

Everyone has the freedom to express his/her opinion about a politician, but to generalize/categorize all Republican, or, all Democratic politicians into one neat package as several folks have done serves no purpose! One size does not fit all! There are good & bad politicians regardless of party. This childish behavior of "lumping" everyone together only demonstrates that one has a very narrow-mind, & harbors many prejudices. If you must criticize, stick to the subject, & don't pull every single politician into the mix simply because of their party association.
Stick to the content of the story

Christie is the perfect Keynote speaker for the Republican Convention. NJ unemployment is a full 9.8 percent after the partial effect of his policies. Revenues are way off. Yet he still wants to cut taxes after taking up to $6000 from public employees. The worst part of that senario is that those middleclass people would spend that money in the NJ ecconomy helping small business across the State while the wealthy will not spend their tax savings here. As Will Rodgers said "It ought to be trickle up not trickle down. The rich will get all the money anyway but at least the little guy will have it pass throught his hands once."

Oh Billy Boy....when the Federal Government secures our boarders and removes any and ALL illegal ....opps my mistake....undocumented criminals who came to this country ILLEGALLY then I will accept that no one should be required to show an ID to vote. Apparently you don't care if NON-Americans vote in our elections.....But many, like myself, do care. Hmmm could it be that your here ILLEGALLY???
Dan Grant
6:41 pm on Tuesday, August 28, 2012
If you had any understanding of the election process you would understand that there is virtually no fraud in the system. Each district is run by a local Board who for the most part have been there for years and know the people who come into vote. Every candidate on the ballot can have challengers that can question any vote cast if they fear that a person is not registered. The voter must sign a book with a sample signature attached. BTW the day you uncover some Business in Morris County operating with the undocumented then you will show that you are not just on a witchhunt because someone doesn't look like you.

Mr. Grant,
Really, no voter fraud. What planet do you live on? There have been cases where DEAD people have voted in local and state elections! In October, KTVU Channel 2 cross-checked California's state death registry record across voter lists in the nine Bay Area counties, finding that in eight elections in the last ten years, "232 people with death certificates had voted after they had died – some more than once." 153 of these cases were from one county, And illegals being permitted to vote is just as bad.
http://www.ballotpedia.org/wiki/index.php/Dead_people_voting
Care to explain how that can happen? How can a local Board member who has been there for years and knows the people who come into vote allow someone to vote for a DEAD person? Or do you believe the DEAD person actually voted? I would love to hear your explination.
Read this and explain to me again how Illegals can't vote.......

Can you link a reputable news source and not some conservative BS? I don't know where you've gotten this BS from but the facts are that there have been ten cases of voter fraud in the past 12 years, most occurring during the Bush administration. The new id laws are being put in by Republicans to suppress the elderly and Black votes.

Billy, I have to believe that you know that every state offers an ID (Driver and non driver) at the State Motor Vehicle agency. There is no excuse for someone NOT to have an ID. Considering that in todays world, where you have to have ID to cash a check, get on a plaane, rent a car, or even open a bank account it's hard to believe someone can't get an ID. Your arguement is specious. Interesting that you ducked my question about how many voter fraud cases are too many.....that says alot.
William Mays
9:58 pm on Tuesday, August 28, 2012
I don't know how many are too many, but answer my question. Whats worth more, those ten votes or the thousands that will be lost if these laws are put in effect. Elderly people can't go to the DMV and wait in long lines. You shouldn't have to go to the DMV to be able to exercise your CONSTITUTIONAL right to vote.

Billy said....Elderly people can't go to the DMV and wait in long lines. You shouldn't have to go to the DMV to be able to exercise your CONSTITUTIONAL right to vote.
Show me where it says you have a CONSTITUTIONAL right to vote in the Constitution. Let me do you a favor Billy and save you some time. There is NOTHING in the Constitution giving someone the right to vote.
The DMV does not always have long lines and even if they did why can't elderly people go to the DMV and wait in long lines. If voting is so important to them that would be a small price to pay. I doubt we would be hearing of elderly people dying at the DMV waiting for an ID.

Billy, The answer to your question is the ten votes are worth more than the thousands. I would rather be assured that there are NO outside (non American) votes in any of our elections. If that prevented an American who chose not to obtain an ID so they could vote then so be it. Thanks Mr. Bombace for your contribution to this discussion. Your comment is right on point. If it's so important to a person that they be able to vote then it should be equally important to that person to get a proper ID from their states DMV which is simple to do.

Some people don't own a car and there isn't a DMV in their town, how are they supposed to get there. By the way, you obviously have no clue about anything in the Constitution, since it pretty much guarantees your right to vote after age 18. But its ok for you to flip s*** when someone challenges your "right" to own a machine gun, using language that is unclear.

Ok I wil, reply to your questions & statements one at a time ......
You said - Some people don't own a car and there isn't a DMV in their town, how are they supposed to get there.
My Reply - Bus, Taxi, son or daughter, Neighbor, Train. This is how these people get around day to day why doesn't that work to get to the DMV? .
You said - By the way, you obviously have no clue about anything in the Constitution, since it pretty much guarantees your right to vote after age 18.
My Reply - Once again I ask you to quote for me from the Constitution where a Citizen is guaranted the right to vote.
You Said - But its ok for you to flip s*** when someone challenges your "right" to own a machine gun, using language that is unclear.
My Reply - I don't remember saying anything about this issue.....why did you feel the need to bring this up. Could it be your trying to side step the issue we are discussing?

Too bad the public union members that are on here constantly pissing and moaning, aren't smart enough to realize times have changed. There are more TAXPAYERS than there are Union members, and the smart politicians are going to pander to US now. New Jersey taxpayers spoke loud and clear when Christie was elected and politicians across the country took notice. The folks in Trenton aren't stupid, they know as soon as you qualify for your pension check, you'll move out state,so they are going to get everything they can from you now, and I think they are doing a damn good job of it.
