Firefighters 'Fight' Flames at Training Academy

Spend the day on live burn training

Millburn firefighters from Platoon 2 spent the day at the Morris County Fire Academy training in live fire situations. They worked through several scenarios that included having to rescue a victim, fight a third-floor fire, knock down a door to fight a commercial fire and cut through metal.

Each of the department's platoons is spending a day at the academy, and this was the third platoon that has spent a day there. Two days of training remain on Thursday and next Monday. Firefighters get the opportunity about once each year for the live burn training.
