Five (Actually Six) Things Going on in the Schools

Don't forget - the first big thing is that there's no school on Monday.

 

Today's five things has a bonus - there are so many things going on in the schools this week we threw in an extra.

1) Don’t forget that it’s a day off of school today for students – staff on the other hand have a development day.

2) The Millburn Film Fest logo contest deadline has been extended to Saturday, Oct. 15. Students enrolled in Millburn Public Schools may enter the contest to create the best original logo for the first annual Millburn Film Fest and possibly win a $100 gift certificate. The Millburn Film Fest is sponsored by the Education Foundation and puts students in the spotlight by showcasing their short films.

3) Parents of students in grades six through 12 can learn more information about the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights at a presentation on Tuesday, Oct. 11, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Millburn High School Auditorium.

4) MMAC meets this Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Millburn Library auditorium. The business meeting, which will highlight Red Ribbon Week events, begins at 9:45 am.  Sgt. Tom Rich, who is also speaking to both Millburn Middle School and High School students this month, present “Our Teens, Technology & Cyberbullying”  at about 10:15 a.m.

5)  The Millburn Recreation Teen Center Presents Freshman Movie Night on Friday, Oct. 13. The Movie: THOR. The Teen Center will be open from 7 to 11 p.m., Movie begins at 7:30. Free Admission to all Ninth Graders, High School ID Required .Saturday, October 15 – MHS Key Club Talent Show, 7 p.m. 

6) The Board of Education meets on today at 7:45 p.m. at the South Mountain School.

7) MHS juniors (and some sophomores) will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT examination Wednesday morning, October 12. Meanwhile, the rest of the school will be attending an assembly relating to the state's new HIB law.
