Furay Concert Brings Something Old, Something New
His music ranged from old favorites to his new work.
The ballroom at the Hilton Short Hills was full of music fans Monday night to hear the Richie Furay Band play something old and something new.
Furay took the audience on a 40-year tour of his music ranging from Poco and Buffalo Springfield songs to his new material. Backed by the Richie Furay Band, his daughter Jesse Furay Lynch sang next to her father. Furay said his daughter has been recording music.
Monday's concert was sponsored by the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce, and a VIP meet-and-greet with Furay was held before the concert.
Furay was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. He was a founding member of Buffalo Springfield with Stephen Stills and Neil Young. Following Buffalo Springfield's break-up in 1968, he started the group Poco with Jim Messina. He continues to tour and record music.
