Great Clips Opens in Short Hills
The new hair salon offers an online check-in service.
Looking for a new place to get your ears lowered that's quick and convenient?
Well, the new owners of Great Clips in town opened their salon at 770 Morris Turnpike in Short Hills with convenience in mind for the residents of Millburn and Short Hills.
The new store brand offers a first for the salon industry - an online check-in service so customers can add their name to the list before they arrive. All you have to do is go on the Great Clips website or download its app.
"I wanted to bring to the community the brand of Great Clips," owner Joy Vaz said. The new brand not only bring affordable hair cuts but it also encourages owners to reach out into the community, she said.
Vaz and her husband, Tony, said they also wanted to give back to the community and Great Clips allowed them as owners to really get involved.
The company sites says every month it donates $1,500 to a new charity.
"Great Clips is very community minded," Vaz said. "My husband and I wanted to open a small business and that's what drew us toward it."
The salon opened last week with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Mayor Sandra Haimoff cut the ribbon along with the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce.
"We like this area," Vaz, a Tewksbury resident, said about the location in Short Hills. "We've felt very welcome in the community since we moved in. We felt we really made a connection."
The salon hours are:
- Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Throughout the United States and Canada there are over 3,000 Great Clips salons.
