Happy Shrove Tuesday! Who Makes the Best Pancakes?
Shrove Tuesday, a.k.a. Pancake Day, is celebrated in English-speaking countries around the world before the start of Lent.
What did the English do to rid their kitchens of flour, sugar, fat and eggs before the start of Lent? They made pancakes, of course.
The Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, is known as Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day in many English-speaking countries around the world.
Where Shrove Tuesday is practiced, Christians gorge on pancakes before Lent begins and it's time to restrict diets of pleasurable foods until Easter Sunday.
Crown the King of Flapjacks below. If you don't see your favorite in the poll, share it in the comments. Plus, tell us what you plan to give up for Lent!
