Harvest Festival to Feature Pie-Baking Contest
It's the second annual contest sponsored by the Paper Mill Playhouse.
The Paper Mill Playhouse is looking for the area's best pie bakers.
The playhouse will hold its second annual pie-baking contest as part of the Little House on the Prairie Harvest Festival, which will launch their 71st season. "Little House on the Prairie" is the first play of the season and opens Sept. 10.
The harvest festival will be held on Sept. 12 at 1-5 p.m. in Taylor Park and on Main Street. The event is free and open to everyone.
There will be prizes for best-looking pie, best-tasting pie or most-creative pie. To register for the pie-baking contest, call Amanda Householder at Paper Mill Playhouse at 973-379-3636, ext. 2645.
The harvest festival features a blue-grass band, a country-rock band, professional and amateur square-dancing, free pony rides, free petting zoo, free hayrides, free face painting, a prairie-themed costume contest and specialty food.
