Many people know Jane Seymour from her very successful acting career, but locals who visit Wentworth Gallery will also know her for her art after this weekend.

Seymour is scheduled to appear at Wentworth Gallery in the Mall at Short Hills on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. for "Jane Seymour: A One Woman Show." The show includes original oils, acrylic and watercolor paintings, as well as limited edition artwork, all available for purchase. Visitors to the gallery will have the opportunity to meet Seymour.

It's the second of two local Wentworth Gallery appearances. She'll appear on Friday at 6-9 p.m. at the gallery at the Shops at Riverside in Hackensack.

According to a press release, when Seymour is not acting, writing, producing, designing or “Dancing with the Stars,” she can be found painting in her Malibu studio.  She began painting over a decade ago, prompted by a period of personal challenge, with her art becoming an expression of a very private healing process, according to the release.

Over the last 16 years, she has created an intimate world of watercolors and oil paintings and has accepted select private commissions, including official artist of the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Seymour's screen and TV roles have included “Wedding Crashers,” “Live and Let Die,” as Cathy/Kate in “East of Eden” and as Dr. Quinn in “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” a role for which she won a Golden Globe.
