Kindergarten Registration Is Wednesday
The planning board meets, the middle school holds night one of concerts, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" opens at Paper Mill and Far Brook holds a sold out screening of "The Race to Nowhere."
1. Wednesday is day one of kindergarten registration in the Millburn School District from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. In order to be registered for kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old on or before Oct. 1. Parents should register their child at the school at which he will attend and should bring an official birth certificate, two proofs of residency and the child' s current immunization record for the school nurse.
2. The Millburn Planning Board meets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Millburn Town Hall.
3. Millburn Middle School hosts night one of its winter instrumental concerts on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday’s concert will feature the Eighth Grade Band, Wind Ensemble and students featured in all of the string orchestras.
4. The "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" opens Wednesday at Paper Mill Playhouse with a performance at 7:30 p.m. The production runs through Feb. 13.
5. Far Brook School plays host to a screening of "A Race to Nowhere" at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The screening is sold out. The film has prompted a national discussion about the academic and cultural pressures faced by students in a traditional achievement-oriented American school system.
