Too much time on your hands. How about administration control? These thugs in the white house have too much of it. The issue is not the guns, it's the control.

I as many other people was speechless when I heard about the Newtown shooting. However, I disagree that the gun control is where the issue lays. I think making Washington aware of mental health issues and reforming education is what needs to be addressed. Most of the shooters/ murderers that have been acted have been young men who were medicated because they didn't fit the mold. These medications are not safe, the pharma acknowledges but many are still treated off-label because teachers complain that they don't behave like the rest of the kids. Teachers need better training in patience and education in mental disorders. If we want to mainstream everyone we need to take action and educate ourselves. It's either this or go back to the 50's and reinstate mental institutions.

Noone, noone, noone needs assault weapons. Let's be reasonable.

To everyone saying we don't need assault rifles guess what? Its the Bill of Rights not the Bill of Needs. You want to ban so called assault weapons I think that's misguided but fair. But please don't pretend that the Second Amendment does not give us the right to own assault weapons because it actually does just that. If you want to change the laws, change the Constitution. Don't work around it. Because once you negate one of our rights, you can negate them all. Barack Walker Obama already continued Bush's massacre of the Fourth Fifth and Sixth Amendments. Don't let him ignore the Second.

I wish them well in their endeavors. Abbey Spangler (VA) is a gun control advocate. She was not directly related to anyone at Va Tech, but decided to do something. We were somewhat directly affected by the shooting, as we lost a young man who was to have become engaged to our daughter (who also attended Va Tech). He was the boy from PA. If the group has a petition to be signed, I would like to sign it. Part of the reason that these guns go into the wrong hands, is that those with mental health issues go under the radar. It's considered an invasion of privacy. In some States the background checks are barely done, especially at the gun shows (that's the loophole).
I saw some leaving comments regarding teachers. The Professors at Va Tech went to the administration, but nothing was done.
I really hope someone can come up with a solution to this problem.
