Masses Honored 9/11 First Responders and Victims
St. Rose of Lima held special services this weekend to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States.
This weekend, St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills held several Vigil Masses and services in the cemetery in memory of those who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
They also honored the community's first responders who willingly put their lives at risk in service of this community.
Msgr. George, Trabold, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima presided at the Mass in which there was a recitation of names of parishioners and other family members and friends who died that day.
The conclusion of the Mass was marked by a procession, led by Millburn Fire Department and Police Color Guard, into the cemetery, where, following a brief prayer service, taps was played to honor the dead.
The service concluded with the singing of America the Beautiful.

A beautiful mass and a wonderful way to honor the victims, to remember the heroes who acted selflessly and to bring the community together. God Bless America!
