Steve Rappoport was a witness to and submitted the video of the fire. Rappoport, who lives in the complex about four buildings away, said in an e-mail message he was awakened by the sound of a police siren and then heard the police car zooming down Forest Drive. Rappoport said he saw smoke coming out of a ground floor apartment and a smoky haze behind the apartment. He said It looked like only one apartment was involved. He said firefighters were on scene until 1 a.m.
