All of Millburn's schools have been involved in a variety of gift-giving drives this holiday season. In addition to contributing to the Millburn Police Department's annual Toys for Tots appeal, all schools have held holiday drives to provide gifts to those less fortunate.

Hartshorn Elementary School families donated gifts to 250 children from the Department of Youth and Family Services. South Mountain and Wyoming elementary schools also collected for DYFS families, providing 270 gifts in total for those children. Glenwood families donated new and wrapped gifts for 300 needy children in a school in Newark.  For the fifth consecutive year, Deerfield Elementary School's holiday parties were wrapping parties. Students donate and wrap hats and gloves for the homeless.

At Millburn High School, senior Holly DiClemente coordinated the Holiday Sponsors Program, in which students "adopt" a child and buy gifts for him or her. The program provided holiday gifts for 106 children in Newark this year.

Millburn Middle School held its long-running annual Kris Kringle collection. This year students provided gifts for 130 children from the Little Friendship Baptist Church in Irvington. Students donate money, and  volunteers from each homeroom shop for those children (who range in age from infants to teen) to provide three gifts: warm clothing, hat & gloves and a toy. Student volunteers help school nurse Pam Palmieri to wrap the gifts, and she coordinates delivery to the church.

Schools Supt. James Crisfield said, "We are so proud of our students' efforts, and we thank all of our families, staff members and students who got involved and made it a point to help those in need this holiday season."
