Detectives with the Millburn Police Department are investigating two home burglaries that occurred last week on Old Short Hills Road and one that occurred Monday morning on Cypress Street in Millburn.

According to police investigating the two burglaries that occurred back-to-back on Old Short Hills Road last Wednesday, April 18, a witness reported seeing a man, possibly Hispanic, walking between houses in the vicinity of the burglaries and told police that she also saw him parked in a dark blue SUV on Old Short Hills Road. An Apple computer was taken from one of the homes.

In the Cypress Street break-in on Monday, April 23, the homeowner told police that sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., his home was burglarized. When he left the house around 8:30 a.m., he said, he did not lock the doors,  and when her returned a couple of hours later, he discovered that his son’s MacBook Pro laptop was missing from the living room table. He also discovered that his brand new, Samsung Galaxy S cell phone and Apple iPad and a Sanyo DVD player were also missing from the living room.

According to the police report, the homeowner then went upstairs to find that the contents of the dressers were strewn across the bed and more than $15,000 worth of jewelry was missing, including a Pearl necklace, a diamond anniversary ring and a gold engagement ring.
