Police Report Thefts at Short Halls Mall This Weekend

Woman took $900 in merchandise from Gucci, while man stole misplaced iPhone from Brookstone.

Millburn police are looking for a woman and a man in connection with two separate alleged shoplifting incidents this past weekend in the Mall at Short Hills, officials said. 

According to Millburn police, three women walked in to the Gucci store in the mall at about 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. 

One of the store's managers told police as the women walked around the store he saw one of the women take three belts and put them in her Louis Vuitton purse, each valued at $300.

According to the report, the manager told one of his employees to lock the door leading back into the mall. The women walked to the exit, unlocked the door and walked out of the store into the mall. 

When police arrived, officers searched for the three women but couldn't find them. Police described the three women as black. One of the woman was dressed in all black, while another was described as wearing pink pants and a white blouse .

According to police, the woman described as wearing a pink and white blouse allegedly took the belts.

Also on Saturday, a manager at Brookstone found an iPhone left in the store at about 2:20 p.m. The manager loudly asked the store, "Is this anyone's cell phone?"

He told police, a man described as in his 20s, white, wearing a green plaid shirt and jeans, stood up and claimed the phone.

According to the report, the owner of the phone, valued at $800, returned to the store a little later.

After reviewing the security footage, the owner was seen putting the phone on top of a box and walking away, police said. The security cameras also show the man who claimed the phone.
