Presiden't Cup 5K Race

Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce and Investor's Savings sponsor 33rd Annual President’s Cup Night Race in downtown Millburn.

This year, the 5K run, attracted more than 1200 runners. The race followed a route along Essex Street and Millburn Avenue, finishing just behind the Millburn Law Enforcement building.

Prior to the 5K race, children were given the opportunity to participate in a Kid's Run which was held at 7:30 p.m. on Essex Street, adjacent to the Charlie Brown’s parking lot.

Men's winner Jeff Perrella, 24, of Westfield, came in first with a time of 15:04 and the women's wnner, Elena Rozhko, 39, of Millburn, crossed the finish line with a time of 17:04.

Investors Bank in a partnership with the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce provided the corporate sponsorship for this year’s race. The race is one of the most sought-after 5K races in the tri-state area and one of the most beloved Township traditions.

Other corporate sponsors included: The Sneaker Factory Running Centers, the Mall at Short Hills, Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse, Peerless Beverage Company, Samuel Adams, Saucony, and NJ American Water.

The American Red Cross of Millburn-Short Hills, Hilton Short Hills, Jackson Lewis LLP, Kaiser Chiropractic Center Inc., Katz/Novoa Architects & Planners, Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Sports were listed as race sponsors followed by  Studio 1200, Summit Medical Group, The Alternative Press, Weichert Realtors, Casey & Keller, Inc., Millburn Laser Center, New Jersey American Water, and Paper Mill Playhouse. Completing the sponsor list are: Can Do Fitness, Hennion & Walsh, Cox Printers, Priddy Learning Academy, The Montessori Children’s Academy.

A great community event for the town of Millburn! Would be great to see more of these, e.g. a bike sprint race?
