Redistricting Report Expected in Early February
The plan will be presented at a Board of Education meeting.
Schools Supt. Richard Brodow is working on completing a presentation about the possibility of redistricting and plans to bring it to the Board of Education in February.
Brodow said during Monday's school board meeting he is reviewing room utilization information and bus costs. The information will help him with the report on possible redistricting.
He plans to make a presentation at a board meeting "in early February." The board meets on Feb. 8 and 22. In the Property Committee report given Monday night, it was said the information would be presented to the committee later this month.
The Board of Education directed Brodow to prepare a report on the potential for redistricting during a meeting in November. The report is to include a potential timeline and an analysis of any savings or additional costs that would be associated with redistricting. Two public hearings will also be held before Brodow makes a final recommendation.
The issue came up during the school board's annual retreat in October when discussing the number of classes and associated classrooms would be needed at Glenwood Elementary School for the 2010-11 school year. There is the potential the art classroom would be lost and art would need to be moved to a cart.
