Stolen Thunderbird Recovered in Irvington
The car was stolen from a driveway on Whitney Road. Also, teens were arrested for shoplifting at the mall.
Irvington police recovered a Thunderbird stolen from a Whitney Road residence this week.
The resident reported the theft of his 2004 Ford Thunderbird on Thursday at 6:35 a.m. Police believe the car was stolen between 8 p.m. on Wednesday and the time of the report.
Irvington police recovered the car at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. It was unoccupied.
Teens Arrested for Shoplifting at Mall
Three teens were arrested for shoplifting at Neiman Marcus at the Mall at Short Hills on Tuesday.
A 15-year-old from Berkeley Heights is accused of concealing merchandise valued at $198. A 15-year-old from New Providence is accused of concealing merchandise valued at $298. A second teen from New Providence is accused of concealing merchandise valued at $468.
The three teens' names were not released because of their age. They were released to their parents.
Illegal Dumping Reported
Garbage was removed from the middle of a road by the Millburn Department of Public Works early Thursday.
Police were dispatched to the area of Old Short Hills Road and Martindale Place on a report of illegal dumping at 1:46 a.m. Officers found beer cans, glass beer bottles, broken glass and plastic cups in the middle of Martindale Road.
DPW workers responded and removed the trash/hazard from the road.
