The Item: Chai Center lawyer, neighbors vocal at hearing

Rabbi's lawyer questions township planner regarding report; neighbors worry about traffic; other residents support synagogue.

 

According to today's Item of Millburn and Short Hills, Rabbi Mendal Bogomilsky's lawyer Larry Kron questioned Township Planner Paul Phillips during the Monday, Oct. 31 Chai Center hearing about a report he submitted to the Millburn Zoning Board of Adjustment in mid-October.

The Item also reports that both opponents of the synagogue and supporters testified.

The next Chai Center hearing is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m., in Millburn Town Hall.

So, how much money is the Township spending on this application, and how much will it spend in the future for legal appeals and the like? This seems like it could be a big win for the lawyers and consultants.
