The Millburn Police Department reports that during the last week three homes were broken into. In each of the home burglaries, several rooms were ransacked and items, including jewelry, were taken. A medical office also reported the left of a laptop, but there were no signs of forced entry.

Here are the cases on this week’s police blotter:

• On Feb. 17 at 7:19 p.m. the Millburn Police Department responded to a Colonial Way residence.  Sometime between 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. someone pried open the home’s front door. Several rooms in the home were ransacked and jewelry was stolen. 

• On Feb. 17 at 8:11 p.m., while canvassing the Colonial Way area during the investigation of the previous burglary, police discovered a second Colonial Way residence that had been burglarized. Numerous rooms were ransacked during this burglary. A list of what was taken is still being developed.

• On Feb. 18 at 4:07 p.m., the Millburn Police Department responded to a North Road residence on a report of a burglary. On scene, police found that a front door had been kicked in and several rooms had been ransacked.  Residents believed the crime occurred within the previous 24 hours. A list of items taken from this crime is still being developed.

• On Feb. 18 at 5:49 p.m. the Millburn Police Department responded to MONOC Medical Services on East Willow Street.  MONOC personnel reported that during that afternoon a laptop computer was removed from a locked office.  There was no sign of forcible entry.

• While on patrol on Feb. 14 at 6:36 p.m., Sgt. Robert Ronceray pulled over 53-year-old Fairlawn resident Peter Nawalany in the area of Millburn center. His investigation concluded that Nawalany was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.  Nawalany was arrested charged with the DWI, driving with a revoked license, and several other motor vehicle offenses.  He was released to a friend, pending his court hearing.
