Visions For Vacancies: What Should Move to 516 Millburn Ave?
It's up to you to suggest what business should move in to this Short Hills storefront! Let us know in the comments section.
Let's call this a modern spin on community planning — Patch's version of a charette, a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.
In an occasional column, we'll present a new vacant space and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use. Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules, and all the other zoning jargon that puts people most to sleep.
We're launching this occasional feature again by focusing on the vacant space at 516 Millburn Ave. in Short Hills. The empty space is a few door away from the new store Happy Feet.
There's a few vacant storefronts in this area so what would you like to see down the road from downtown Millburn?
Last time we ran this piece we asked the community about 515 Millburn Ave. in Short Hills. Most who commented agreed the town doesn't need anymore restaurants or nail salons but a few voted for a bookstore. One Patch user asked for a gift/furniture/antiques store while another hoped for a venue for live music.
What do you think?
With tons of shopping, restaurants and other eclectic shops in downtown Millburn, now it's up to you to suggest what business should move in down the street.
If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

Craig.......this is the 4th or 5th "Vision For Vacancies" you've run. How about letting us know whether or not any of the other vacancies have been filled and by whom?

Headquarters for a Bond villain. Could be disguised as a nail salon. Either that or a fight club.

Jill ~~ Good one! ;>) We need to chuckle! Sometime the comments are w-a-y too serious and negative. Enjoy the snow! (Although I'm not chuckling, but it is pretty!)

Call me crazy, but it would be nice to get a good slice of pizza around that area. Another Arturo's perhaps?

@Doug try Pizza Vita if you want pizza
As for the vacancies, I think a watering hole within walking distance (besides the train station) would be great! Or a small market to buy odds and ends?

How about a kitchen store, healty fast food, bookstore, wine bar, mens clothing store, love the ice cream idea, shipping store, hardware store, and why not an apple store so I don't have to go to short hills mall and wait......... (one can dream can't one)!
