What's That Smell?: Skunk Stinks Up MMS

Crews will be removing a skunk from near the school's annex area.

Depending on where you were at Millburn Middle School the last two days, you may have been asking "what's that smell?"

An overwhelming smell was in the area of the school's lower annex, and officials pinpointed that it's a dead skunk, said Nancy Dries, school public information officer. Crews will be taking care of the dead skunk and the smell Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The school was never closed during the smell and there were no reports of a large number of students or staff being sent home early, Dries said. Some students didn't even know about the big stink.

Glad they found this!! My middle schooler has been complaining about the smell for the past two days. And he told me emphatically that a number of students and teachers did indeed go home early.

I was in the middle school on Sunday... the smell was awful.
This definitely provides explanation!

Actually, there has been a smell since last friday and there were many students who went home and felt sick because of the smell.
