Students and families from The Winston School in Short Hills recently participated in a Thanksgiving food drive in support of Interfaith Hospitality (IFHN).
Lisa Charles, Winston School Trustee and parent, helped to coordinate the gift of 10 baskets, including a turkey and trimmings, for families receiving assistance from IFHN.
Winston families and faculty donated their time, talents and treasures to supplement donations from Springfield Shoprite and Whole Foods Market in Maplewood. Charles and her son Adam, an eighth grade student at Winston, helped to deliver the items to IFHN in time for the holiday.
Interfaith Hospitality Network helps homeless families — parents and children — who are in need of shelter through a network of churches and synagogues. IFHN also works with families to help set goals to find a home and become self-sufficient.
Winston School, located at 30 East Lane, serves students with language-based differences from communities throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The school offers tailor-fit programming in small class settings.
