Is there a reason this appears on the front page of Millburn Patch every day when it is entirely irrelevant to Millburn/Short Hills readers? Quote: "Principia GT is providing a free service to all Union county and Morris county residents."
As Essex County residents, why should we care about this event?

Ed,
Kudos to your non-profit for providing a valuable service. Thank you.

My issue is not with you or your service. Rather, I question why Patch is advertising this on the front page of the Millburn/Short Hills Patch website (Essex County) when your service is only for residents of Union & Morris Counties.

Settle down folks ... They're just letting everyone know of this service. Just MAYBE our own township residents actually know people who live elsewhere and can pass on the info. Gee, that's a thought! Have A Nice Day!

I agree with Larry. Front page news on Millburn Patch should be relevant to township residents. I shouldn't have to read an article in depth, only to find out it's not useful for me.

Actually, we have picked up many electronics from both Millburn and Short Hills residents. We do pick up from Essex County.

Just FYI, this item was in our events section, not our our front page or even in our news or articles section.

With all due respect to prior posters,
First, this item DOES appear on the front page in the events section: Every... Single... Day. This really is an ongoing service, not an event, and there's no reason for it to be appearing in "Today's" event every day. It would be like listing "Down the Block Offers services for those in need" as an event every day, or the Millburn Public Library offers free book lending every day. All of these are worthy charitable or philanthropic services, but there's no reason for these ongoing services to appear in each day's event listing.

Secondly, even thought it's listed for approximately the past month on the Millburn Patch website, the article listing says "Principia GT is providing a free service to all Union county and Morris county residents." As I posted earlier, if it's not a service for Millburn residents, why is it listed under events for Millburn? (I see Ed Zamora has since posted that they do pick up in Essex County, but the listing itself has not been updated.) Is there any quality control for what events get posted on the Millburn event listing? Or is the event listing "anything goes"?

Yes, people can and do add their own events listings -- just as you can add your own announcements, as well. And, yes, you're right: The events calendar is on the front page. I misspoke -- I don't consider the events listing the same as articles on the front page.

Seems we have NO problems except to complain about an article~listing~'event' ~ or whatever or however it's referred. If that's our biggest complaint, aren't we lucky? It's a service provided ~ and as Ed Z. wrote, they also pick up from OUR township residents .... right here in Essex County. Oh, BTW .... I do enjoy the Patch! Even enjoy those trivial complaints .... keeps our minds working. Again, Have A Nice Day!
