Theater Workshop for youths age 8 -18

Seven weeks – June 28th to August 19th, 2012 

Rehearsals are generally – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.  The last two weeks are mandatory.  At the end of the session, students will give three (3) performances – August 17th, 18th and 19th   (Aug 19th is a Sunday matinee.)

Admission is by audition.  Class enrollment is limited.

There will be a $325 registration fee for those accepted (discounts available for multiple children in same family). 

Auditions will take place on June 19th  from  6:30 to 8:30 PM.  At the Jardine Academy, 61 Myrtle St, Cranford NJ. 

Please plan on being there the entire time – bring comfy clothes/shoes, snacks, water,
etc.

During auditions, they will be asked to:

Sing two songs from the show with piano accompaniment – The Candy Man & I Want It Now and sing one song of their own choosing without accompaniment (does not have to be from the show)

         
Memorize the attached monologues – Sides 1 & 2 if you come to the audition without memorizing the monologues, you may not be considered for a lead role Perform a scene from the script (attached)

Learn and perform a brief dance routine (taught that day)

The Jardine Academy, a program of The Cerebral Palsy League, Inc. is a school for children with cerebral palsy. It provides a comprehensive educational program, specially designed to meet the cognitive and physical needs of children who have multiple disabilities. The Cerebral Palsy League operates this facility for students ages 3 - 21. Here you'll find a number of specialized learning centers that have tools and toys adapted for those with a physical disability, such as a PlayStation with modified keypads that teaches hand-eye coordination.
