As Home Building Picks Up, So Does Morris Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore

Luxury home builder Cliff Geissler’s latest major renovation project on Forest Drive South in Short Hills took a slight pause when The Morris Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore truck stopped by to remove major appliances from the home.  A stove, refrigerator, dryer and dishwasher were transported to the ReStore, located at 274 South Salem Street in Randolph where they will be sold at a considerable discount.  Proceeds from the sale of these items and others like them, will be used to finance the houses which Morris Habitat builds, renovates or repairs. 

Mr. Geissler, the president of Geiss Custom Builders only recently learned about "The Store That Builds Homes," said, “I’m happy to have found out about the ReStore, and expect to be donating a lot more in the near future.  Additionally, I look forward to volunteering along with my staff on a Morris Habitat for Humanity build.”

Local pickup by the ReStore allows residents to dispose of their unwanted items in a convenient and environmentally-conscious way while helping local working families achieve the American dream of home ownership.

In December, from 9:30 to 3 pm, a truck from the Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore will be in the following areas and can pick up items from your home:

December 17:  Bernardsville, Basking Ridge, Bedminster, Mendham, Far Hills and Peapack-Gladstone; December 18: in Summit; and December 20: in Chatham.

The ReStore accepts new or very gently used building materials, lighting fixtures, hardware items, furniture in excellent condition and operational appliances, artwork, books and home accessories. The ReStore’s inventory is 100% donated from businesses and individuals and donated items are sold at a fraction of their retail prices.
