positive self-talk, bullying, peer pressure, emotional health, community service, positive body image and being yourself all while having fun.

Imagine the satisfaction and reward of helping not just one girl but 15 or 20 gain a stronger sense of identity, greater self-acceptance, a healthier body, and an understanding of what it means to be part of a team in just a couple of hours a week.

You don’t have to be a runner to volunteer with GOTR, you just need the desire to help young girls.  We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Girls on the Run is a non-profit prevention program for girls in grades 3-5.   The 10-week program meets twice a week and follows a national curriculum focused on building self-esteem and improving emotional and physical health with training for a 3.1 mile (5K) event.

Coaches are provided with training, a comprehensive, well-researched curriculum, and teaching materials that are being used by Girls On The Run in communities around the nation.
