Spencer Savings Bank Attracts More Than 500 Residents to Its Movies Under the Stars Series in Westfield, NJ

Spencer Savings Bank, a community bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., concluded its Movies Under the Stars series on Friday, September 20, 2013, at the Elm Street Field, in Westfield, N.J. Spencer Savings Bank partnered with the local Westfield Area Y, and together, drew more than 500 local residents. 

The Movies Under the Stars event featured the 2012 computer-animated film, “The Lorax,” based on Dr. Suess’ children’s book, which follows the story of 12-year-old Ted, as he searches for the one thing that will impress the girl of his dreams.  During his adventurous journey, the boy discovers the story of the Lorax, a grumpy yet loveable creature who is eager to protect his world.  Moviegoers enjoyed freshly popped popcorn and refreshing beverages, served by Spencer Savings Bank employees.  Door prizes were raffled off among moviegoers in attendance.

Spencer Savings Bank also hosted a movie event in Elmwood Park, N.J., on the same night, featuring the film, “Bedtime Stories.” These two events concluded the bank’s Movies Under the Stars series for the year, but it will recommence in the spring of 2014.
