"Spring Awakening" coming to CDC Theatre in February

 

             Spring Awakening” is in rehearsal at CDC Theatre in Cranford, New Jersey. Winner of 8 Tony awards, with book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik,   the rock musical adaptation of Frank Wedekind’s 1891 expressionist play deals with the trials, tribulations and exhilaration of the teen years through searing drama and soring ,lyrical music.

“Spring Awakening” follows the lives of Wendla, Melchior, Moritz and their friends as they struggle through the journey from youth to adulthood and explores the confusion and desperation that explode when the onrushing tide of hormones meets the ignorance of children.

            The cast includes Chris Cantalupo as Melchior, Samantha Koenig as Wendla, Dave Maglione as Moritz, Allie Acquafredda as Isle, Chris Abbott as Hanschen, Zach Mazouat as Ernst, Chris Frazier as Georg, Will K. Carey as Otto, Kimberly Jackson as Martha, Patrina Caruana as Thea, Lindsay Adkins as Anna, and features Gus Ibranyi and Melissa Timpson.

Jeffrey Fiorello returns to CDC as Director, with Jack Bender as Musical Director and Megan Ferentinos as Choreographer.
