Neil Yaris, Nan and Howard Greenwald, Paula and David Touger, and Lisa and Corey Biller will be honored at Winter Gala Celebration.

Congregation B'nai Israel in Millburn will honor longtime members Neil Yaris, Nan and Howard Greenwald, Paula and David Touger, and emerging leaders Lisa and Corey Biller, at their Winter Gala Celebration.

The Gala honoring these talented and committed members of the CBI community will take place on Saturday night at Congregation B'nai Israel.

The event includes cocktails, dinner, presentations and dancing. “It’s going to be a wonderful night celebrating our community and the dedicated efforts of our honorees,” said Gala co-chairwoman Mariela Dybner.

Neil Yaris, of Maplewood, currently utilizes his professional experience to co-chair the Endowment Committee, managing investment allocations. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees. He frequently attends the morning minyan and volunteers as an usher during Shabbat services. He has also served as chair of the Financial Resource Development Committee and has co-chaired the Major Gifts committee of the capital campaign.

Paula and David Touger, of Millburn, have been members of CBI for 17 years.  A past president of the synagogue Board of Trustees, David has also served as chair of the School Board and Religious Affairs committees, been a member of numerous other committees, and is active in the Men's Club.

In addition to volunteering her time on countless synagogue committees, Paula is a past president of Sisterhood, and has spent countless hours tutoring b'nai mitzvah students.

Since joining CBI 23 years ago, Nan and Howard Greenwald, of Millburn and South Orange, have made many contributions of time and energy to the synagogue.

Howard is a two-time past president of Men's Club, has served on the Board of Trustees, and has participated actively in the morning minyan for the last 15 years.

Nan was the PA religious school president and served on many committees, ultimately leading to a successful term as president of the Board of Trustees. Since her tenure as president, her involvement level has remained high, tirelessly working to improve the CBI community.

The newest members to be honored this year, Lisa and Corey Biller, of Millburn, are "emerging leaders" who have been members of CBI for 5 years.

Lisa is currently the chairwoman of the preschool PA board, and represents the preschool on the Board of Trustees.  She has also been a member of the Board Nominating Committee and the Security Task Force.

Corey has offered legal expertise to the synagogue on a variety of matters related to benefits and employment law including offer letters, contract negotiations, and the employee handbook.  He regularly participates in Men's Club and full CBI activities.
