POLL: Should the 'Tanning Mom' be Prosecuted?

Nutley mom's arrest and appearance leaves many shaking their heads.

What a crazy week it was for Patricia Krentcil.

The 44-year-old Nutley mom became infamous nationwide for a scandal that started because she was accused of letting her 5-year-old daughter go into a tanning booth with her.

Police arrested Krentcil, who also had an oustanding warrant, after the little girl allegedly complained of being burned and told school officials she got sunburned in a tanning bed.

Since then Krentcil has appeared on national television and in publications around the United States. And the public has started to question the issue of of excessive tanning and whether or not it's safe for children to be allowed at tanning salons.

Krentcil, who has been called "tanorexic" has denied the allegations and said her daughter went with her, but was never allowed in the tanning bed.
