Services for Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday begins the Lenten Season.

Many Christians attended services this morning and noontime in Millburn and Short Hills for Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the Lenten Season.

Ash Wednesday takes place 46 days before Easter and marks the first day of Lent, a period of prayer and fasting for many Christians.

Adherents of Lent will have an ash cross placed on their foreheads symbolizing mourning and repentance. There are still a few opportunities around town for the faithful to get their ashes today:
