Poll: Which is the Best Italian Restaurant in Town?

Is it even possible to choose? The best pasta? The best sauce?

For some people it's the smell of the fresh-baked Italian bread, the tang of the freshly-grated parmesan cheese, for others it's the perfect al-dente pasta with just enough savory tomato sauce on top.

Northern New Jersey is nearly synonymous with Italian food and the "abondanza" we have makes us spoiled.

We love our bolognese with tender meat, our pesto with fresh basil and just the right amount of garlic, and our parmigiana sandwiches to be served with the mozzarella cheese still bubbling on top.

So it's a tall order to pick the very best Italian food in town. But that's what we're asking you - our Patch readers - to do.

Starting this week, we want to know your "Patch Favorites." We want you to vote for your favorite local business, this week for your favorite Italian restaurant. So here's what you need to do:

Find out what's happening in Millburn-Short Hillswith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • Cast your ballot.
  • Tell your friends, family, acquaintances, co-workers, doctors, letter carriers and anyone else you know to do the same.
  • Use our comment tool to tell us what makes your favorite the best. Is the secret in the sauce, is it the crumbled sausage instead of the sliced, is it the friendly service?

The voting takes place starting 6 a.m. Monday until 9 a.m. Friday and the story will stay on the home page all week to give you time to vote. The winner will be announced at noon Friday. Ties will be broken by whichever business has the most positive comments below, and reviews on Patch Places.

The winner will be announced just in time for that week-ending dinner order — and bragging rights!

This is democracy in its truest form. Your vote counts, so thanks in advance for doing your duty and voting your culinary conscience! See you Friday!

Editors Note: Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Regional Editor Liz Moore, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.
