Metropolitan Orchestra to Perform Finale of 40th Season

Orchestra will present 'An Evening With Richard Rodgers and Friends' on Saturday night.

The Metropolitan Orchestra of New Jersey will present its 40th season grand finale, An Evening With Richard Rodgers and Friends on Saturday, June 2, at 7 p.m. at the Hartshorn School in Short Hills. 

The evening’s performance, under the direction of Maestro Michael Stratechuk, will feature orchestral works of American composer, Richard Rodgers including Victory at Sea and selections from The Sound of Music and The King and I.

The Orchestra will also perform selections written by Rodgers’ contemporaries –Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Ferde Grofé, Frederick Loewe and Jerry Bock, including pieces from Fiddler On the Roof, My Fair Lady and Irving Berlin’s A Symphonic Portrait.  Also included is a piano solo with bass and drums of Richard Rodgers ballet music, Slaughter on Tenth Avenue featuring soloist Mark Yolleck of Montclair.
