Paper Mill Playhouse Offers Summer Players Camp

No-audition summer theater camp meets this July for children ages 8 to 13.

Paper Mill Playhouse, one of the country’s premier not-for-profit theaters, is the place where American musical theater is celebrated, cherished, and pushed in exciting new directions. This summer we invite young thespians to continue working on their performance skills by enrolling in the Paper Mill Playhouse Players Camp. The summer camp is a non-competitive, summer musical theater workshop in which students can have fun while honing their acting, singing and dancing skills.

The classes will run on the Paper Mill Playhouse campus from July 1 to July 24 and will meet three times a week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. There is a morning session available from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children ages 8-10, and an afternoon session available from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for children ages 11-13.

The summer will culminate in a “sharing” for families and friends on Thursday, July 24. This will be an opportunity for children will showcase their new skills and training. All classes will be held at Paper Mill Playhouse and tuition is $625 for the four week session.

“After a sold-out offering last year, we knew we had to add another season of the Players Camp to our Theatre School offerings,” says Theater School Director Mickey McNany.  “The Paper Mill Players Camp has no audition requirement and students will be enrolled on a first-come, first served basis. The mission of the Paper Mill Playhouse Theatre School is to offer an opportunity for any child who has the interest to be able to work on their performance skills. Even if a child does not want to pursue professional acting, the camp can provide valuable life skills like confidence, collaboration and public speaking. This new summer workshop offers students to opportunity to get the training they need to be able to bring their talents to the next level, while at the same time having a summer of fun.”
