Millburn-Short Hills Chamber Seeks Board of Directors Candidates

Chamber President Michael Shapiro: 'Serving on the Board of Directors allows members from the business community to have a voice in chamber policies and serve their community.'

The Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce is seeking candidates to be considered for serving on the 2014-2015 Board of Directors.

Candidates who are interested in furthering the chamber’s mission with their time, energy, expertise and passion should complete the required online survey by March 31.

“Our Board of Directors is a hard-working, passionate group of business leaders. We are putting out our call for interested potential candidates online to ensure a transparent nominating process," said Michael Shapiro, president of the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce. "Serving on the Board of Directors allows members from the business community to have a voice in chamber policies and serve their community.”

In addition to attending regular monthly board meetings, each member of the board of directors is required to serve on at least one committee. Committees include: marketing, fundraising, finance and budget, membership and volunteers, and special events.

The Chamber’s Nominating Committee may not be able to seat everyone interested in serving and the election outcome is at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors.

The survey can be found at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MSHCC.
