Upscale Chocolatier Coming to Downtown Millburn

Chocolate Works, slated to open this summer, will also provide on-site workshops and children's parties.

A chic New York chocolatier is set to move into a Downtown Millburn storefront this summer.

Chocolate Works, a spinoff of the decades-old 5th Avenue Chocolatiere, has been a huge success since it opened in 2012 at Amsterdam Avenue and W. 91st St. in Manhattan.

The 2,000 square foot, 2-story office and retail space at 321 Millburn Ave. will be the chain’s second store in New Jersey, according to the Sabre Real Estate Group.

In addition to its extensive collection of chocolates, including its signature 5th Avenue Truffle and such eclectic offerings as chocolate martini olives and chili-infused chocolate nibs, Chocolate Works stores are stocked with bulk bins of classic candies and also offer children’s parties and workshops for children and adults. The chocolate is made on premises and children are able to enjoy an interactive experience and become “chocolatier for the day” through on site workshops or parties.

Scott Sher, a senior vice president of Sabre, represented Chocolate Works.  Sabre is Chocolate Works exclusive broker for its franchised expansion throughout the New York metropolitan area. The landlord is 321 Millburn Investors LLC.

Chocolate Works plans to open several hundred stores across the metropolitan region over the next several years. It’s first New Jersey store is in Livingston. In addition to its Manhattan location, Chocolate Works has five stores on Long Island and one in Westchester. Sabre is seeking locations of 1,800 to 2,500 square feet in prime neighborhoods for the retailer.
