Millburn Schools Benefit Rocks

Silent auction, U2 tribute band highlight fundraiser

Millburn-Short Hills has long had close ties to New York City's media and entertainment industries, and Friday's fundraiser for the Millburn school system put those ties on display.

The silent auction included drumsticks autographed by Phil Collins, a tour of the CNN studios, a Good Morning America tour, David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon and The Daily Show tickets, tickets for the 2009 US Open golf tournament, a 3-night stay at Loews Miami Beach Hotel and, a bit closer to home, a half-year parking spot at Millburn High School.

The Education Foundation of Millburn/Short Hills sponsored the fundraiser, at the Maplewood Country Club, that benefits communication and arts programs for all Millburn students, K-12.
