The concert, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Aug. 24.

Tickets are selling swiftly for the Richie Furay Band concert that is scheduled for August.

More than half of the allotted 100 VIP premium tickets have already been sold for the concert, which is sponsored by the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Concert, that is scheduled for Aug. 24 at the Hilton Short Hills.

The Furay Band’s August concert will be the only New Jersey/New York area small-venue performance this summer, and will feature what rock-and-roll historian Pete Fornatale calls “Furay’s foot-stomping, toe-tapping, hand clapping feel-good happy music that puts a smile on your face.”

General seating tickets are $39 for the show. Preferred seating tickets, which include a pre-show meet and greet with Furay, are $65. All tickets are available through the chamber office, which can be reached at 973-379-1198.

A special pre-concert dinner buffet is being offered at The Terrace Restaurant at Hilton Short Hills starting at 5 p.m. It costs $29 per person. Reservations should be made to the restaurant by calling 973-912-4757.

Richie Furay was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.  He was a founding member of the 1960’s rock group Buffalo Springfield with Stephen Stills and Neil Young.
