Millburn township provides Q & A for pre-storm preparation.

Below are answers to some questions that the township has received in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy impacting Millburn and surrounding areas:

Q: Where should I park my car if I want to move it to higher ground or out of a driveway that normally floods?

A: Residents can park their cars to municipal lots without fear of ticketing during the storm. Residents should avoid Lot 1, due to its potential for flooding. If you click the following link you will find a map of all of the Township’s municipal lots.

A: Yes, JCP&L has informed the Township that trucks are in the area and that the Livingston Mall will again be the staging area for their operations.

Q:   Is leaf collection still going on? Why were my leaves not picked up?

A: Public works crews are working throughout the day Sunday to clear leaves from those areas that are low lying and prone to flooding. Residents are asked to keep all leaves off the streets. If leaves are in the street, please move them back onto their yards to reduce clogging of catch basins and street flooding.

Q: Has a warming station been established?

A: Yes, South Mountain School and Town Hall will be opened as warming and charging stations. These are not overnight shelters and are meant as a place for residents to come, get warm and refresh their electrical devices.
