District Anounces Candidate Forums for School Board Elections

Four candidates are vying for three open seats with three year terms while two other run for the open one-year seat.

The Mllburn school district has announced two upcoming opportunities for residents to hear from the candidates vying for the Board of Education seats up for grabs in the November election.

The first of chance for residents is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Education Center for a candidates’ forum hosted by the Short Hills Association.

The second is set for Tuesday Oct. 22 for another candidates' forum hosted by Millburn Township PTO Conference

Audience questions will be welcomed.  The Association underwrites the taping and airing of the Forum by HomeTowne TV  on Channels 33 and 36 the following week.

Four candidates are running for three open seats with three-year terms: Michael Birnberg, Emily Jaffe, Michael King and John Westfall-Kwong.

Rona Wenik and Chase Harrison are running for a one-year term, an unexpired seat vacated earlier this year.

Register to Vote by Oct. 15, 2013 to vote in the November 5th General Election. If you are new to the county or the state, you must register in order to vote on November 5. Download the form here.

Vote by Mail In New Jersey, any voter can now vote by mail in any election. You do not need a reason to Vote by Mail. Don't feel like going to the polls? Simply vote by mail. Now there is "no excuse" not to vote!Download the application here and submit by Oct. 29.
