Andrea Epstein, painter and printmaker, will be having a one person show at the Lundt-Glover Gallery in Chatham township. The Arts League of the Chathams will be presenting around 30 works on paper by the Berkeley Heights resident in a show entitled “Bold Impressions”. The opening, on December 22 from 2-4 pm, is open to all.  The show will remain on display until March 11, 2014.

With a characteristic mix of bold colors and many layers, Epstein creates an intricate depth to her pieces with abstract shapes.

“I consider most of the images to be a sort of inner landscape of the mind,” Ms. Epstein said. “My aim is to create an image that reveals itself slowly over time as opposed to being accessible all at once.”  Epstein’s paintings and prints also can
be seen online at www.andreaepstein.com

Ms. Epstein has shown often in the US, with recent shows at the Pearl Street Gallery (Elizabeth, NJ); Art League of the Chathams (Chatham, NJ); The Gaelen Juried Art Show (Whippany, NJ): Gallery 54 (Chatham, NJ);  Parsons School of Design, (NYC); Ashawagh Hall, Solo Exhibit, (East Hampton, NY); The Visual Arts Center, (Summit, NJ); The Gaelen Galleries, JCC MetroWest, (West Orange, NJ;) and The Fitchburg Art Museum, (Fitchburg, MA).

Andrea Epstein’s education includes a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and an MFA from Yale University School of Art.  She is also certified to teach studio art through the Bank Street College of Education/Parsons School of Design in New York City. While at RISD and Yale Ms. Epstein was a teaching assistant.  In New York City she
taught at Parsons and The Hewitt School, and in Maplewood she was
