George Gershwin at the Millburn Library

Come join us at the Millburn Free Public Library as we honor
George Gershwin on his birth anniversary.  Gershwin , a self-taught icon
of music, is famous for his melodies that capture the American Sprit.  In
partnership with his lyric-writing brother Ira, the Gershwins went on to
produce some of the most memorable show tunes from Broadway to Hollywood.

Dennis Kobray will portray composer George Gershwin at the
Millburn Library on Thursday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m.  Delight in the
“fascinating rhythms” of George Gershwin and his combination of ragtime, jazz
and classical music.  Mr. Kobray is a skilled actor and gifted musician
who enjoys the challenge and opportunity of bringing the real-life stories of
some of history’s greatest musicians to audiences of all ages.
